ARTICLES I found
I ‘d like to collect articles that have my interest. Sometimes they will also inspire me to write about how I look at art.

LAAT WAAIEN – LAAT ZIEN

Painting as a conceptual language
From the start as a painter, I’ve been investigating my position as a female artist.
I look at art history as a network, where I am the spider weaving new connections between the worldwide available images and styles in an associative manner. I am drifting from fundamental art to wild painting, from fine detailed parts to rough surfaces.
By using all kind of materials and content matter, I combine what I want and find in my appropriate way with a wide range of painterly languages.

Interventions
In the series Interventions I look back at some old master paintings or old photographs from a 21th century point of view.
I painted mostly women (in art). It was a follow up from the series ‘Encounters’ 2015-2017.

ENCOUNTERS 2015/2017
In this series famous and unknown people meet each other in (a sometimes intimate) relationship regardless of time and place.
